Allison Hoffman

About

Dr. Allison B. Hoffman received her B.A. and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. She spent 20 years in industry as a consultant, where she developed and validated selection and assessment systems, created training programs, and conducted executive assessment, development, and coaching.

In 2008, Dr. Hoffman joined Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) as an Adjunct Professor. She has taught various courses, including Professional Development: Tech Issues & Solutions and Well-Being: Cultivating Curiosity. She also serves as the Course Coordinator for Professional Development: Tech Issues & Solutions.

Her teaching philosophy centers around the continuous exploration and integration of innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement. In 2024, she became a Pedagogical Innovation Fellow. She is committed to staying abreast of emerging trends in pedagogy and incorporating them into her teaching. From experiential learning to interactive discussions, she strives to create novel learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles and foster creativity and critical thinking.
