Bio

Erin McCleave is the Vice President of Strategic Projects for Collins Aerospace (part of RTX) based in Charlotte, NC. In this role, Erin partners with key stakeholders to set strategic goals and lead execution of critical projects that help shape Collins for the future.  Erin has been with RTX for over 25 years working in different business units as well as headquarters and has held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, program management, strategy, mergers & acquisitions, and general management including leadership of multi-site US and International business entities.  She is passionate about aerospace and loves working in businesses and on projects that help the industry move forward.

Erin holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She also holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University School of Business & Technology with a Specialization in Leadership.  She has researched and published works on both technical and business topics including her quantitative dissertation on the use of the Servant Leadership model in technology-focused aerospace organizations, a model she seeks to embody in her leadership roles.

Outside of work, Erin and her husband are raising two teenagers and enjoy spending time as a family.  Her hobbies include reading, travelling, amateur archeology (she has a degree in that as well), pottery, and working towards her private pilot’s license.  She is also passionate about diversity and inclusion and is proud to have been among the founders of the RTX ‘WILL Rise’ program, dedicated to the advancement of women in general management or ‘line leadership’ roles in aerospace.
