Bio

Ernesto is an expert in mathematical modeling and computer simulation of metallurgical systems and processes with emphasis in free and moving boundary problems. Following two years as Postdoctoral Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology he came to Rensselaer in 1987 and has been a full-time member of the Faculty ever since. Concurrent with his academic duties, Ernesto has served as a technical research consultant to several industrial corporations over the past four decades. Teaching and collaborating with working professionals at Rensselaer continue to be the highlight of his career.
