About
I am broadly interested in the theoretical and algorithmic aspects of machine learning, mathematical statistics, and information theory. Currently, my focus is on causality, representation learning, and bandit algorithms.
I am currently an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, a Senior Area Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Information Theory Society. In the past, I have served as an Associate Editor for the IEE Transactions on Signal Processing, an Associate Editor IEEE Transactions on Communications, an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grids, a Guest Editor for the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, and a Guest Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid. I have received the Jury Award (Columbia University), School of Engineering Research Excellence Award for Junior Faculty (Rensselaer), School of Engineering Classroom Excellence Award (Rensselaer), James M. Tien '66 Early Career Award for Faculty (Rensselaer), School of Engineering Research Excellence Award for Senior Faculty (Rensselaer), and a CAREER award from the U.S. National Science Foundation.
